LONGi has partnered with global energy leader Yinson Renewables to supply 53.2MW of Hi-MO 9 modules for Peru’s Sol de Verano 1 solar project. This landmark collaboration highlights LONGi’s ability to unite global expertise with localized solutions, reinforcing back contact (BC) technology as a preferred choice for utility-scale projects worldwide.

The Sol de Verano 1 project, located in Majes, is the first phase of a Yinson Renewables ground-mounted plant and will deploy 82,836 Hi-MO 9 high efficiency modules to deliver clean energy to communities and industries. Developed through cross-regional coordination, the initiative underscores LONGi’s commitment to advancing decarbonization in emerging markets while meeting stringent performance and sustainability standards. Construction is set to begin in May 2025, aligning with Peru’s goal to source 60% of its electricity from renewables by 2030.

Hi-MO 9’s back contact technology eliminates front-side electrode shading, a critical advantage for Peru’s high-irradiance climate. Designed for resilience, the modules feature advanced anti-PID and anti-LID guarantees, ensuring long-term reliability in harsh environmental conditions. The ultra-high-power density minimizes land use, aligning with the country’s ecological preservation goals, while LONGi’s industry-leading 30-year linear power warranty secures enduring returns for developers.

“This partnership with Yinson Renewables exemplifies how BC technology transcends borders to deliver transformative impact. Hi-MO 9’s unmatched efficiency and durability are reshaping solar’s role in the global energy mix and this project is a testament to LONGi’s vision of a zero-carbon future, powered by partnerships that prioritize both performance and sustainability,” commented LONGi Europe president Leon Zhang.

Yinson Renewables CEO David Brunt added:“LONGi’s Hi-MO 9 module was chosen following a detailed competitive technical and commercial analysis. Their expertise and responsiveness have been crucial in the initial phase of the project. We are confident in LONGi’s ability to deliver to the highest standards, and we look forward to a successful collaboration and a long-term partnership that supports our broader renewable energy goals both in the region and globally.”
