Suntech’s first Ultra T 3.0 high-efficiency quarter-cut module has rolled off the production line at the company’s Jiangyin manufacturing base, marking another milestone in the expansion of its N-type module portfolio.

Powered by the company’s self-developed N-type TOPCon 3.0 cell technology, the module delivers cell efficiencies of up to 27.5% and, combined with an innovative quarter-cut architecture, the new product is designed to enhance energy yield, operational reliability and application flexibility across a wide range of scenarios.

The module features a more compact cell layout compatible with high-density negative-gap encapsulation technology, increasing active light-absorbing area and improving power generation per unit area. Its optimized“parallel-series-parallel” circuit design helps reduce operating current and mitigate hotspot risks, while delivering stronger performance under high-temperature and partial shading conditions.

The quarter-cut architecture also improves mechanical durability by distributing stress more evenly across smaller cells, effectively reducing the risk of microcracks. Even if a single cell is impacted, the effect on overall module output remains limited, supporting more stable long-term system operation in residential, commercial and complex installation environments.

In addition, the product integrates advanced technologies including edge passivation and Polyfinger design to reduce carrier recombination losses and minimize leakage risks. With bifaciality of up to 90% and a low temperature coefficient of -0.26%/°C, the module maintains strong energy generation performance even in demanding climates.

The rollout of the module is further enabled by Suntech’s strengthened collaboration across the integrated PV value chain following its strategic cooperation with HY SOLAR. By enhancing coordination from upstream materials to advanced module manufacturing, Suntech continues to reinforce its manufacturing capabilities, improve production efficiency and accelerate the commercialization of next-generation high-efficiency PV technologies.
