Thornova Solar has announced the launch of its Tangra L Pro Hail 620–640W module, a next-generation utility-scale product specifically engineered to withstand extreme hail conditions in some of the most weather-exposed solar markets in the United States.
Developed for hailstorm-prone regions including Texas and the Midwest, the Tangra L Pro Hail combines high-output performance with reinforced structural durability to help developers, EPCs and asset owners reduce weather-related project risk and improve long-term asset reliability.
The module has been independently tested and certified by Intertek for resistance against severe hail impacts, successfully withstanding 65mm hailstones weighing 132.2g at an impact speed of 36.78 m/s. Testing was completed for tracker-based installations, simulating real-world utility-scale deployment conditions.
At the core of the module’s durability is Thornova’s new armoured-glass architecture configuration, designed to deliver superior impact resistance compared to conventional utility-scale modules.
Global Marketing Director Andrea Bodenhagen commented: “Extreme weather resilience is becoming a critical factor in utility-scale solar design. The Tangra L Pro Hail was specifically developed to address growing concerns around severe hail events and to provide project stakeholders with greater confidence when deploying solar in high-risk regions.”
The Tangra L Pro Hail 620–640W is designed for utility-scale and large commercial applications and expands Thornova Solar’s portfolio of high-performance modules tailored to the evolving requirements of the U.S. market.
