Taiwan-based merchant solar cell producer Neo Solar Power Corporation (NSP) has reached a new monocrystalline solar cell conversion efficiency milestone.
NSP said ahead of this week's PV Taiwan conference and exhibition that its ‘Black 21’ cell had been certified by the Taiwan Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) at 21.1% conversion efficiency.
The company claimed that due to its mono-PERC processes the Black 21 cell had reduced light-induced degradation (LID) that was lower than that of normal p-mono cells. The cell was also claimed to have to also have a low potential-induced degradation (PID).
NSP expects the product to be available for engineering sampling at the end of 2015.
