Foster Wheeler will design and supply equipment for the planned 100MW Shams-1 solar power plant at Madinat Zayed, United Arab Emirates. The plant, located just outside Abu Dhabi, will receive the equipment in the third quarter of 2011.

When completed, the Madinat Zayed plant will have a capacity of 100-125MW, making it the largest concentrated solar power plant in the world. Investment for the project is coming from Total, Abengoa and Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, with the latter holding the majority stake of 60%.
