A 7.5MW solar plant, worth €22.8million has been built in the north-west province of Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.
Spanish company Assyce was responsible for engineering, installation, commissioning and maintenance of the installation. Sonnedix, a global solar IPP and Thai public company, Karnchang were the primary developer and investor. First Solar has provided 90,000 panels spread over an area of 20 hectares. Sonnedix claims this plant is the largest operating First Solar plant in South East Asia.

Ingeteam, another Spanish company, has manufactured high performance inverters DC / AC used in this plant for converting solar electricity.
Assyce has further plans to construct a 9.5MW PV plant in Chiant Rai, northern Thailand in July 2013 for Sonnedix. The plant has already closed financing for an investment of €30.3million. Over the next two years, Sonnedix hopes to aggressively expand into Asia.
