The company is investing €25 million in the new
facility, and construction of the site began in January 2008. While
completion of installation is expected in December 2008, one of three
automated double production lines will be ramped until the end of the
second half of this year.

The new site will be committed to
the production of SOLON P 220 solar modules as well as modules for the
SOLON mover, a turnkey tracking system.

SOLON has also announced
that it expects the new venture will generate an additional 200 jobs at
the Carmignano di Brenta site, bringing the company’s total staff base
to 300 by the end of the year.
