‘Solar Module Super League’ (SMSL) member, Canadian Solar has set a record 22.28% conversion efficiency for its p-type multi-crystalline 'P5' cell, which was tested and certified by Fraunhofer ISE.

The P5 cell is based on GCL-Poly’s (casted mono) technology, which has recently entered volume production utilizing 157mm x 157mm wafers. Canadian Solar includes selective emitter, silicon oxide passivation, multi-layer anti-reflection coating, aluminum oxide backside passivation, and advanced metallization processes to achieve the new record conversion efficiency.
