Following the initial assignment in November of the business of Italian inverter manufacturer FIMER to McLaren Applied Group affiliate MA Solar Italy, the acquisition procedure has now been formally completed, allowing the company to conclude its restructuring process and reach renewed financial solidity with more than €50 million in investment.

The technological synergies between FIMER and McLaren Applied are anticipated to foster innovation, enhance operational efficiency and support market growth, including entry into new sectors beyond photovoltaics.

Nick Fry, Chairman of McLaren Applied, commented: “We are delighted that the acquisition of FIMER by MA Solar Italy has been formalised.  FIMER has a leading market position with a well-established industrial footprint in the design and manufacture of inverters. Above all, the company has a highly talented and committed workforce, which is its most important asset, similar to the culture and ambition of our team at McLaren Applied. We see many areas of complementary development and an exciting future for FIMER.”

Marc Meyohas, Managing Partner at Greybull Capital, added: “FIMER has a huge opportunity ahead, in part thanks to its uniquely talented team and workforce, well-invested industrial tools and decades of know-how. Having been fully restructured and with the completion of this transaction, the company now has the capital and determination to capture the opportunity that lies ahead. We are excited about this investment and look forward to supporting FIMER as it helps to develop the energy transition.”
