The first 210mm n-type i-TOPCon cells have been produced at Trina Solar’s net-zero park in Qinghai province, marking the transition of the 5GW cell capacity to mass production, a milestone for the company’s integrated n-type technology layout, which incorporates the entire supply chain of ingot, wafer, cell and module.
i-TOPCon advanced technology was launched by the company in May, with the innovations of selected boron emitter and highly doped TOPCon structure with PECVD enabling cell efficiency to reach 26%.
By the end of the year Trina Solar’s cell production capacity is expected to reach 75GW, including 40GW of n-type cells, all of which will be equipped with i-TOPCon technology.
