Huasun Energy and Shanghai Hency Solar Technology, a subsidiary of the Shanghai Electric Group, have signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement to jointly advance heterojunction (HJT) technology, product collaboration and international market expansion. The partnership aims to accelerate technology standardization, commercialization and the global adoption of high-efficiency photovoltaic solutions.

The agreement builds on the companies’ complementary strengths. Huasun Energy, a global leader in HJT, operates a fully integrated production chain from ingots to modules with an annual HJT capacity of 20 GW, the largest in the world. Hency Solar leverages Shanghai Electric’s expertise in smart energy systems, advanced manufacturing, and digital integration, focusing on high-efficiency HJT and next-generation tandem technologies.

The partnership will focus on advancing HJT efficiency and tandem research, coordinating production to strengthen supply chain resilience, and expanding international markets through joint projects and branding.

“Partnering with Shanghai Electric is a pivotal step in building a unified HJT ecosystem,” commented Huasun Chairman Jimmy Xu. “Together, we will accelerate standardization and large-scale deployment, delivering higher efficiency and reliability to global customers.”

Shanghai Electric Group COO Yinping Qiao added, “This cooperation reflects deep strategic alignment. By combining Shanghai Electric’s system expertise with Huasun’s technology leadership, we will jointly advance next-generation PV innovation and create greater value for global clients.”
