Huawei has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Enertech Holding Company in Kuwait to develop an Eco-Friendly Smart Destination and 500 MW of solar power plants in Pakistan. Huawei Technologies Pakistan will be Enertech’s leading technology partner for both ventures.
The Smart Tourist Destination project will be developed based on livability, affordability, sustainability, and a resilient approach, with ICT technologies seen as playing a vital role in integrating businesses and lifestyles through user-and-eco-friendly smart city services and solutions.
The two companies aim to establish a long-term cooperation on smart and safe tourism destination development across architectural planning and construction by harnessing key technologies such as Cloud Computing, Big Data, AI, IoT, Data Center Facility & Solutions, Intelligent Security solutions and Smart PV Solutions.
The goal of the partnership is to build a state-of-the-art smart destination to attract Pakistani citizens and tourists from the rest of the world and also cooperate on solar power plant development.
At the signing ceremony in Lahore, Mr. Gao Weijie, Managing Director of Huawei Pakistan’s Enterprise Business Group commented: “The digital economy has become the new engine of economic growth around the world, especially in the post-Covid era. Technologies like AI, cloud, 5G and IoT have helped keep the fabric of our society together.
