The smarter E South America, the largest platform for the new energy reality in Latin America, concluded its 2025 edition having attracted more than 55,000 visitors and featuring an expansion of the areas dedicated to energy storage solutions, electrical infrastructure and e-mobility, consolidating its position as the leading Latin American initiative for the sector. Over three days, four parallel South America focused events – Intersolar, ees, Power2Drive and Eletrotec+EM-Power, brought together 600 exhibitors, with over 3,000 professionals participating in their respective conferences and workshops. Amid the challenges facing the Brazilian and international photovoltaic market, the event was marked by innovation, the launch of products and services capable of connecting industry solutions, knowledge sharing and professional development, as well as strategic networking focused on partnerships and business opportunities.

Florian Wessendorf, Executive Director of Solar Promotion International, the international organizer of the event, commented: “The success of another edition of The smarter E South America demonstrates its importance for all aspects of the renewable energy industry. By offering a comprehensive program encompassing business, knowledge and technology, the event has become a strategic asset for professionals and companies committed to the energy transition. This is evident in the expansion of the trade show floor space, with ees South America, for example, expanding its footprint by almost 40%.” The Electrotec+EM-Power and Power2Drive South America fairs also saw booth space increases of 13% and 5%, respectively. Aiming to meet market growth and demand in the South and Northeast regions, the organizers are also holding the Intersolar Summit Brasil Sul this year in Porto Alegre, from October 28th to 29th, and the Intersolar Brasil Nordeste in Fortaleza, from April 28th to 29th, 2026, both focusing on solar energy.

ABSOLAR CEO Rodrigo Sauaia, emphasized that the photovoltaic sector’s evolution has been driven by a series of factors, such as the creation of a solid legal and regulatory framework, public and fiscal policies aligned with technology and societal demand, greater access to credit for project financing and advances in legal stability, commenting: “These achievements have benefited from ABSOLAR’s solid contribution to governments and industry players and allowed this emerging source to compete equally with established sources. Photovoltaic solar energy accounted for 81% of all renewable energy capacity added globally in 2024. In Brazil, the sector has created more than 1.8 million green jobs since 2012, and over R$270 billion has been invested in the country during this period.”  According to Sauaia, the expansion of data centers, artificial intelligence, electromobility, green hydrogen and, especially, energy storage, should further expand the role of solar energy in the energy transition and decarbonization of economic activities.

Felipe Leme, technical manager at Jinko Solar, emphasized the importance of The smarter E South America for his company’s business. “Intersolar is the leading photovoltaic energy event in Latin America, a special opportunity to showcase our technology, showcase new products and highlight the advantages of our company. It’s an opportunity to connect not only with our current partners, such as developers and distributors, but also with integrators, to share a little more technical knowledge about the modules and batteries we’ve been showcasing here.”

Giulia Di Sipio, marketing manager for the Americas at Fox ESS, added: “Participating in Intersolar South America elevates our brand. This year, the booth was packed the entire time. Visitors have been very engaged and more interested in the topic, especially energy storage, which is our focus. We even displayed some real-life installed products at the booth so people could see them up close.”

Rafael Cunha, consultant for the Power2Drive South America conference and COO of Move, emphasized the robustness of the second edition of the fair and conference focused on electromobility, a rapidly expanding sector in Brazil, which already boasts over 14,000 charging stations. “Electric mobility is undoubtedly one of the most transformative topics of our time. In Brazil, we are still facing a growing market that demands caution, planning and, above all, quality information. In this context, the event plays a fundamental role by bringing together knowledge, international best practices, and the necessary discussions to enable us to grow in a healthy and sustainable manner. Throughout the fair’s history, we have seen an increase in the number of solar energy companies and many other charging solutions, in addition to the exhibition of electric cars. This generates and arouses a lot of curiosity among people. Move will definitely be back at The smarter E South America next year.”

João Cunha, consultant for the Eletrotec+EM-Power South America conference, highlighted the integration of the opening of the parallel conferences and also the increased number of paper submissions. “The quality of the material was excellent. This is essential for the training of the participants.”

The 2026 edition of The smarter E South America will take place from August 25–27 at Expo Center Norte.
