JinkoSolar has signed an exclusive supply agreement with India’s leading developer and contractor, ACME Group, to provide its N-type TOPCon modules for a 487.5MW photovoltaic hydrogen production project in Oman. This marks Jinko’s first large-scale PV hydrogen project in the Sultanate and highlights its N-type TOPCon technology, which offers higher power generation per watt, superior all-day performance and greater overall energy yield.
In Oman’s harsh conditions, with an annual average of 2,300 hours of sunshine and temperatures exceeding 50°C, the company’s modules demonstrate exceptional performance. In desert environments with high reflectivity, the modules’ 85% bifacial ratio significantly enhances rear-side power conversion efficiency, delivering an additional 3%-5% energy yield compared to conventional bifacial modules.
Located in the country’s Duqm Special Economic Zone, the project holds significant strategic importance. Phase one is expected to produce an annual 100,000 tons of green ammonia, with plans to scale up to 1.2 million tons. By continuously advancing TOPCon technology to enhance PV system efficiency, the implementation of this project could drive the green hydrogen industry beyond current thresholds and accelerate the decarbonization of key sectors including heavy industry.
