JinkoSolar has announced that orders for its Tiger Neo panels have now exceeded 20GW in the nine months since the product’s launch in November last year. The majority of sales outside China have been to Europe, Latin America and the MENA region, with the company continuing to ramp up production at its new n-type factories to meet growing demand.
Projects mainly based on N-type solutions have been less impacted by the polysilicon shortage, with analysts predicting that, should shortages persist, over half the panels sold going forward could be N-type.
Jinko VP Dany Qian commented: “This year, the industry has responded well to the n-type transition and the growing popularity of Tiger Neo is encouraging, with strong sales offsetting a significant rise in raw material costs across the entire supply chain. Shifts of this magnitude are not so unusual, similar in fact to that witnessed a few years ago with P-PERC replacing poly. In addition to JinkoSolar, a number of other top manufacturers have also enhanced their offerings with more n-TOPCon modules.”
