Menlo Electric has announced the official opening of a new regional headquarters in Leeds. With its warehouse operations based in nearby Bradford, the distributor is strategically positioned to serve the UK and Ireland markets through its subsidiary, Menlo Electric Ltd.

“Due to the recent energy crisis and electricity price volatility, installing a photovoltaic system is becoming an increasingly attractive option for many British and Irish businesses and households. Electricity prices have increased for much of the last decade. Average bills were £769 in 2021 compared to £450 in 2010, a 36% increase, while, at the same time, the cost of going solar continues to drop. Thanks to Menlo Electric’s strong relationship with the world’s leading PV manufacturers, we are in a position to provide our clients with reliable access to top-quality components at competitive prices,” commented Donovan Ramage, general manager at the company’s UK subsidiary, adding: “Many of the brands we carry are currently either not present in the UK or their presence doesn’t reflect their global position. We will change that, while providing clients with a broader choice.”

Menlo Electric is one of the top three EU distributors for world-leading solar module manufacturers, such as JinkoSolar, JA Solar and Risen Energy, as well as an official distributor for Sungrow, SolarEdge, Solax, Deye and FoxESS.

“It is anticipated that the UK’s renewable capacity will increase dramatically over the next decade. By 2030, solar capacity could grow five-fold from 14GW to roughly 70GW. Menlo Electric’s mission is to facilitate the energy transition by improving access to top-quality components. Accordingly, we believe we can play a very positive role in the transformation happening here, supporting the British zero-carbon generation aims and increasing energy independence and safety within businesses and households,” added UK executive director and board member Marcin Ślęzak.
