JinkoSolar has become the first global player to ship 8GW of solar panels to India. The company now has a market share of 24% in the subcontinent, according to domestic research company JMK, consistently maintaining its position as market leader, with a record 2GW shipped in the first quarter of 2022 alone. A second well respected domestic research organization, Bridge to India, also placed Jinko in the No.1 spot in its Q1 report, both in terms of shipments (2039 MW) and commissioned capacity (893 MW).

Sungrow has announced that it has won a contract to supply its inverters to the 154MW Ratesti PV plant in Romania, in collaboration with the project’s EPC provider INTEC Energy Solutions. The project, located in Arges county in the south of the country, is the largest of its kind in Romania and is forecast to generate an annual 124GWh a year, powering 100,000 households with clean energy while cutting carbon emissions by 160,000 tons. It will be equipped with Sungrow’s 6.25 MWA turnkey solution, which offers an efficiency of 99%, making it ideal for utility-scale applications.

GoodWe’s own internal research and analysis further suggests that the company was the leader in the Australian residential and commercial rooftop segment for the same period.

JinkoSolar has begun construction of phase two of its latest n-type cell and module production plant at Jianshan, Haining city, holding a traditional ground-breaking ceremony at the factory location in the Jianshan Industry Park. Here the company will produce 11GW of n-type cells with an average efficiency of 25%, which may become the world’s first 10GW-scale factory to mass produce cells with an efficiency above the 25% threshold.

Trina Solar has announced that its 210 super factory  in the Chinese city of Yiwu has officially begun mass production of the company’s new generation Vertex S 430W module. Production capacity of the new Vertex series, including the upgraded Vertex S and 580W is forecast to reach 10GW this year, a figure expected to more than double in 2023.
