The two Uzbekistani power plants in Samarkand and Jizzakh have a combined installed capacity of 511MW, TrinaTracker exclusively supplying both with 11,248 sets of its Vanguard 1P trackers and supporting tracker level Trina Smart Cloud digital SCADA platform.

The plants were developed and built by the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) and contracted by the International Cooperation Company, a subsidiary of Dongfang Electric Corporation.

Uzbekistan has, with the support of its government, become a key player in Central Asia’s solar PV market and this project marks a significant milestone for TrinaTracker in supporting the region’s energy transition.

The contract for the project was signed in April 2023, the company’s second in Uzbekistan, following the Navoi power plant in 2021. Once fully connected to the grid, it will generate an annual 1.12 billion kWh of electricity, powering 240,000 households and eliminating over 1 million tons of CO2 emissions.

The Vanguard 1P tracker is recognized for its adaptability in different terrains, delivering high energy yield and reliability and reducing investment costs, with its innovative contracted tube design and Trina’s patented spherical bearings cutting installation time by 20%.
