Solar inverter manufacturer KACO new energy has made inroads into the US market with the signing of a US manufacturing partnership with manufacturing solutions company Sanmina-SCI. The partnership will see Sanmina provide end-to-end manufacturing services for its blueplanet 02xi inverter series with the intention of reducing manufacturing costs and overall delivery times.

KACO's blueplanet inverters will bear the ‘made in the United States’ nameplate, an essential factor in companies targeting the US market. The first of this range of inverters will be produced from Sanmina-SCI's San Jose, California facility in the coming months. Sanmina-SCI has set up a dedicated team for new product introduction (NPI) as well as a new dedicated manufacturing line to help with the new workload.

“As KACO grows in the US market, the company needed to make sure that neither price nor lack of inventory would be a barrier for US distributors,” said Vince Lucia, vice president of operations for KACO. “Sanmina-SCI gave KACO the U.S. manufacturing footprint, global supply chain, and logistical support needed to meet our cost and delivery objectives.”

KACO recently announced the opening of a new 2GW inverter manufacturing plant in London, Ontario.
