The New South Wales (NSW) government has approved plans for solar developer Lightsource bp’s proposed 450MW Goulburn River Solar Farm, in the Upper Hunter region.

The Energy Corporation of New South Wales (EnergyCo) has obtained Commonwealth planning approval for Australia’s first Renewable Energy Zone (REZ): Central-West Orana.

The NSW government has declared six renewable energy projects, one solar and three PHES sites, as “critical” for the Australian economy.
