A DEK Solar existing customer, Nice Sun PV Co., Ltd, located in Zhangzhu, Yixing City, China has ordered several DEK Solar Apollo metallisation platforms to integrate into its existing DEK Solar PV 1200 lines to increase capacity of solar cell production. The deal was said to have been struck on the first day of SNEC 2014, held last month in Shanghai, China.

The new tools were said to have been specifically purchased for applications incorporating print-on-print (PoP) two stage processing technique using DEK Solar’s precision screens.

“We look forward to working on future development initiatives with Nice Sun,” said Zhang Dan, DEK Solar China Sales Manager. “The technologists at DEK Solar’s Suzhou Technology Centre are anxious to welcome the Nice Sun team to our state-of-the-art research centre and progress efficiency-enhancing, cost-reducing solar processes.”

According to DEK Solar, the PoP process at Nice Sun, will be carried out on-board the Apollo metallisation platform, which boasts +/- 10 µm accuracy at 2 Cpk and a low breakage rate of less than 0.15%.

Zhu Xu-dong, General Manager at Nice Sun, said:  “I am delighted to expand our successful partnership with DEK Solar.  Their continued innovative work to reduce silver consumption, drive up cell efficiency and increase line yield on a proven platform made DEK Solar the natural choice for Nice Sun.”

Nice Sun is believed to have had module shipments of around 200MW in 2013.
