A 1.7MW solar PV power system comprised of 7300 Motech crystalline-silicon panels has been installed at AstraZeneca's campus in Wilmington, DE. The project is expected to produce about 2.1 million KWh annually, which will account for approximately 10% of an office building's electricity needs.

“Producing green electricity is a significant step toward reducing the impact we have on the environment globally,” said Rich Fante, president, AstraZeneca U.S, and CEO, North America. “AstraZeneca is committed to doing its part to create a cleaner, more energy-efficient Delaware.”

The system, said to be the largest nonutility solar project in Delaware, is also the third and by far largest solar power plant on the AstroZeneca site, with the first two installed in 2004 and 2008.
