PLG Power Limited, the flagship energy and power division of PLG Group, launched India’s biggest solar power generation plant of 40MW at Patan in Gujarat. This is one of the largest solar power projects in the country, reports The Hindu.

BlueChip Energy (BCE), a fully-integrated solar energy provider for residential, commercial, government and utility applications, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) to supply Progress Energy Florida with renewable solar photovoltaic power from the Sorrento Eagle Dunes Solar Farm, a 40 megawatt utility-scale solar PV facility the company is developing in Central Florida.

Kyocera Corporation have announced that 960-kilowatts (kW) of its solar modules (roughly 4,300 units) have been installed on the roof of the recently opened AEON Itami-Koya shopping center (operated by AEON Retail Co., Ltd.) in Itami City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan.

SolFocus has promoted chief operating officer Bob Legendre to president and COO, reporting to CEO Mark Crowley. In his new, expanded position, Legendre will oversee a broad range of activities including manufacturing, supply chain, engineering and deployment. As the COO, Legendre led SolFocus’s engineering organization and finalized SolFocus’s product realization and product certification for deployment in EMEA, Australia and North America.

As CTO, Dr. Schoop will leverage his extensive expertise in the research and development of CIGS solar cell production.
