Canadian Solar signs 10MW module supply agreement for Ontario project

Canadian Solar Solutions, a subsidiary of PV manufacturer Candian Solar, has entered into a 10MW module supply agreement with Algonquin Power.

As part of the deal, Canadian Solar Solutions will provide approximately 42,000 Canadian Solar CS6X PV modules to Algonquin Power for installation at a utility-scale PV facility in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada.

The modules are covered by a 10-year warranty on materials and workmanship, along with a 25-year linear power output performance guarantee. In addition, the terms of Canadian Solar's product and performance warranty are backed by a third-party insurance policy that is underwritten by investment grade insurance companies.

Construction of the project is expected to commence in the second quarter of 2013 and is scheduled to become fully operational in the fourth quarter of the year.
