EU PVSEC: Sputnik Engineering announces entry into UK market

Sputnik Engineering has said that beginning in the fourth quarter of 2010, it will be supplying the UK with its Swiss solar inverters. This news comes after recent investor concern that the UK does not have access to sufficient supplies of high-quality inverters and modules, reports PV-Tech’s UK-based sister site.

“The UK has ambitious goals. Our portfolio matches the individual market segments perfectly and we are looking forward to being a major player in this dynamic business,” said Daniel Freudiger, general manager of Sputnik Engineering International and head of sales and marketing at the company’s Swiss headquarters in Biel.

In order to meet the standards set for products in the UK, Sputnik has optimized its devices. The inverters now come with the engineering recommendations G83/1 and G59/2.

The products for the UK include the string inverters SolarMax S, SolarMax MT and SolarMax TS central inverters. Starting in Q410, the parameters for the UK will be integrated into the serial devices.

Sputnik will outline its plans for the UK at the 25th EU PVSEC. The company is exhibiting on Level 3, Hall 2, Booth C13.
