“The addition of Finlay Colville to our newly formed Solar Intelligence division is a fantastic boost to our existing in-house resources,” said Tim Mann, managing director, Solar Media. “His market knowledge and research credentials are a perfect match to the core competences at Solar Media, and will significantly enhance the quality and scope of the Solar Intelligence team.”

Finlay Colville: “Solar Media has a wealth of proprietary in-house data and market activity through its long-standing relationships with key industry stakeholders worldwide. Coupled with its access to virtually every press communication issued within the industry, Solar Media’s extensive bank of market data, surveys and events-based intelligence gathering, provides the ideal foundation for solar market research activities.”

Solar Media also announces that Dr Colville will be speaking at this afternoon’s Doing Solar Business in the UK conference in Munich, Germany.

Prior to his five year stint with NPD Solarbuzz, Colville held a range of senior sales and marketing positions at Coherent Inc. over a 10-year period, specialising in various high-tech segments including microelectronics, solar, bioinstrumentation and ultrafast spectroscopy. He holds a BSc in Physics, and a PhD in nonlinear photonics from the University of St. Andrews.

The UK Large-Scale Ground-Mount report will be the first available from Solar Intelligence.

Subscribers to the database will get access to the rankings of the 500 top players in the sector, their status across the value-chain based on their success so far, as well as contact details. The data will include project developers, EPCs, PPA off-takers, component suppliers, contractors, planners and more.

Solar Media has been gathering data and market intelligence for many years through engagement with thousands of customers worldwide, spanning the entire spectrum of the solar industry. The company’s events portfolio also includes a dedicated Large-Scale conference and a series of finance and investment focused conferences in London, New York and Singapore.

The company’s publishing business has been tracking and logging the solar industry’s development for almost a decade.

All of this proprietary data and market intelligence will now be packaged in a clear and easily-accessible way for the customers Solar Media has worked with for years.

Colville will be speaking at Solar Media’s Doing Solar Business event in Munich on Tuesday, 9 June. The annual half day conference is designed to prepare businesses for the thriving UK solar market.
