In Germany, Gildemeister will deliver a major vanadium redox flow battery for the SmartRegion Pellworm project owned by electricity supplier E.ON. The battery has a capacity of 1.6MW and stores electricity generated from wind and solar installations on the Germany-owned islands in the North Sea.

The projects for the production and storage of solar power in Romania and Germany will begin by the end of 2012.
