Grupo Clavijo installing single-axis tracker to 55MW Israel project

A 55MW PV project in southern Israel is being fitted with single-axis trackers by Spanish company Grupo Clavijo.

The company announced on 27 February that it had selected the SP 1000 model from its range of trackers and structures and that installation had already begun.

The project, named Halutziot, is in the settlement of Ohad, in the western Negev desert. Halutziot is being developed by Enlight Renewable Energy, which is a subsidiary of Israeli holding company Eurocom Group. The plant will be built using 180,000 crystalline modules, with an annual output of 110,000MWh. It will provide electricity for up to 55,000 homes, according to Grupo Clavijo. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2014.

Grupo Clavijo claims the SP 1000 single-axis tracker used for the Halutziot project “stands out due to its robustness, adaptability to the terrain, flexibility in the positioning of photovoltaic modules, and extreme ease of assembly”. The company says it has installed over 400MW of solar trackers and fixed structures to PV projects to date.
