GT Solar International has appointed John Granara as its new vice president of finance, chief accounting officer and corporate controller. Granara succeeds Richard Johnson, who resigned last week to pursue other interests, and will start the role immediately.

Granara arrives at GT Solar with nearly 20 years of international finance experience in senior management positions. The most recent of these roles was as interim chief financial officer at battery manufacturer A123. Granara joined A123 in 2007 and during this time he managed the company’s accounting, finance, treasury, planning, financial systems, business controls and external reporting.
