“Hanwha is proud to team up with Hamburger SV and the UNDP to achieve one common goal: the creation of a brighter, more sustainable future.” said Ki-Joon Hong, CEO of Hanwha Chemical who is responsible for Hanwha Group’s solar business. “The UNDP’s ambitious quest to reduce global poverty will require the efforts of many across the world and Hanwha is eager to shed light on this issue.

In August, Hanwha announced an official partnership with Bolton Wanderers and Hamburger SV as exclusive solar energy partners.  For the start of the 2011 season, HSV played against Valencia in the Hanwha Solar-Cup. In addition to advertising in the Imtech Arena, the partnership includes the common goal to raise and continuously sharpen the awareness for renewable energies in Germany.

Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane, Goodwill Ambassadors for UNDP, have assembled a team of famous players including Luís Figo, Pavel Nedved and Dida who will play against Sergej Barbarez, Anthony Yeboah and Jörg Albertz and others in a friendly match at the Imtech Arena. The game will be led by legendary referee Pierluigi Collina.
