Huawei and Longi Silicon consider partnership to boost PV power plant yields

Monocrystalline wafer producer, Longi Silicon Materials and electronics giant and PV inverter producer, Huawei Technologies have signed a memorandum of cooperation to pursue smart technology options to boost PV power plant performance and reliability. 

The companies are seeking ways to promote the use of monocrystalline wafer/cell/module technology coupled with Huawei’s ‘smart PV solutions', which are claimed to produce a 3% overall yield of PV power plants.

The cooperation could lead to demonstration projects as well as testing and certification and further collaboration with research institutes and government bodies. 

The strategy could be rolled out globally, according to the companies.
