DAH Solar has announced the signing of a contract to build a facility in Jinzhong, Shanxi province, which will cover a total area of some 400 acres and house a project to produce 7GW each of monocrystalline silicon rods and high-efficiency N-type silicon wafers, cells and modules at a total investment of 5 billion RMB.
The contract marks a significant step up in cooperation between DAH Solar, the Jinzhong Development Zone management committee and the Shanxi branch of China’s Three Gorges Corporation.
As a leading player in N-type solar cell technology, DAH Solar has rapidly developed its N-type distribution since mid-2022, culminating in the company’s TOPCon cell manufacturing base setting a speed record in May for efficiency and yield of a production line within 23 days.
