JA Solar has announced the signing of a module supply agreement with EPC contractor Larsen & Toubro (L&T) for its Samarkand 1 and 2 PV power plants in Uzbekistan. The company will supply all the modules for the two utility-scale projects, reinforcing its role as a key solution provider in Central Asia’s energy transition.
The Samarkand projects, developed by ACWA Power and supporting Uzbekistan’s national target of sourcing 25% of its electricity from renewables by 2030, will have a combined capacity of 1.2 GWp and, once operational, are expected to generate enough electricity to power 600,000 households, offsetting an annual 1.4 million tons of CO₂ emissions.
JA Executive President Aiqing Yang commented: “We are delighted to support these strategic projects alongside world-class partners. Our high-efficiency, high-reliability modules are engineered to maximize energy yield in diverse environments and this agreement underscores the confidence our partners place in our technology and execution capabilities.”
