
Trinasolar has announced the inauguration of its second Innovation and Training Centre in Sorocaba, Brazil, the project the result of a partnership with the Facens Research Institute (IP Facens).
The centre is situated on the university campus and will be used for technical training, applied research and visits from students, professionals and clients in the sector. The facility houses Trinasolar’s latest photovoltaic technologies, including Vanguard 1P solar trackers and Vertex N modules.
The space will be used to offer in-person technical courses aimed at installers, integrators, EPC professionals, developers and engineers, the focus being on hands-on, market-oriented training, with access to the latest equipment and technologies used in solar energy generation.
Trina President for Latin America and the Caribbean, Álvaro García-Maltrás, explains that the initiative aims to bridge the gap between industry and academia, with the company also planning to expand its presence in Brazil by fostering technical collaboration with domestic educational and research institutions.
Patrícia Klahr, Chancellor of the Facens University Centre, adds that the collaboration contributes to the development of professionals focused on the renewable energy sector, with Heverton Bacca, coordinator of its electrical engineering program, pointing out that the centre will give students access to equipment and operational data, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world situations.
