Trinasolar’s Vertex N 630W (NE19R) mono-glass module has been recognized as the best performer in ice and snow testing organized by China’s General Certification Center. The modules involved – especially their five key auxiliary materials of glass, encapsulant film, backsheet, interconnect ribbon and frame — underwent rigorous reliability tests on power output, mechanical deformation, grounding, insulation, moisture leakage and electroluminescence (EL). Testing was carried out in Mohe, China’s northernmost city, over four months from December, the region’s coldest period.

The Vertex N 630W module excelled across all tests, its frame remaining intact, with no overall deformation, and its backsheet showing no signs of cracking or yellowing. EL images revealed no hidden cracks in the cells and the module also passed an insulation reliability test, withstanding a high-voltage pulse of 4000V.

Yunduan Cao, Trina’s head of global branding and marketing, commented: “As a global leader in smart PV and energy storage solutions, Trinasolar is committed to conducting research on various application settings, including extreme cold and heat, offshore, prolonged UV exposure and high altitudes, providing clients with more value and customized products and solutions, as well as contributing to a net-zero future.”
