TrinaTracker has supplied its Vanguard 1P smart tracking solution to the Navoi Integrated Energy 300MW PV Project in Uzbekistan, setting a new benchmark for clean energy in Central Asia. The plant is the largest solar installation in the Navoi region and serves as Uzbekistan’s first large-scale integrated new energy project, marking a significant step forward in the country’s clean energy transition and the development of renewable energy in Central Asia.
Once fully operational, the project is expected to supply some 700 million kWh of clean power annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by roughly 600,000 tons. Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the national commissioning ceremony for new energy facilities to witness the commissioning of this project.
TrinaTracker has served as a significant partner in the country’s energy transition. In 2021, the company delivered smart tracking systems for the 100MW Navoi PV project, Uzbekistan’s first utility-scale solar plant, and has since then supplied tracker systems for key utility-scale projects across regions including Samarkand and Jizzakh, accumulating over 2GW in deliveries.
Through extensive project deployments, the company has developed deep technical expertise in addressing harsh local environments, including high temperatures, strong wind, sandstorms and desert terrain. By combining reliable hardware, smart control algorithms and localized technical support, it provides a comprehensive “Tracker+” solution tailored to complex field conditions.
The Navoi 300MW project is located in open desert terrain approximately 56 kilometers north of Navoi City and it faces extreme environmental challenges. High summer temperatures, intense sandstorms and dramatic day-to-night temperature swings demand exceptional structural reliability and wind resistance from tracker systems.
To address these conditions, TrinaTracker deployed its Vanguard 1P single-drive smart tracking system, featuring a physical structure validated by wind tunnel testing to ensure reliable wind-load capacity. To help mitigate the impact of sand and dust on mechanical components, the system incorporates patented spherical bearings designed with dustproof and corrosion-resistant properties. The company has also integrated its proprietary SuperTrack smart algorithm. By dynamically adjusting tracking angles based on real-time weather, terrain features and solar radiation, the algorithm minimizes row-to-row shading and increases energy yield by up to 8% theoretically compared to conventional tracking systems.
