MKS Instruments buys South Korean RF plasma systems supplier Plasmart

Boosting its presence in the South Korean markets for RF generation and monitoring systems for the solar photovoltaic, semiconductor, flat panel display and AMOLED industry sectors, MKS Instruments has acquired Plasmart, Inc, based in Daejeon, South Korea, in a cash transaction that wasn’t disclosed.

“The acquisition of Plasmart with its applications experience will strengthen and augment MKS' existing RF power capability, provide greater access to the important Korean market, and enhance our ability to serve our Asian customer base,” commented Leo Berlinghieri, Chief Executive Officer and President, MKS Instruments. “Plasmart is a strategic acquisition offering multiple growth opportunities in the semiconductor market as well as other advanced and growing markets.”
