Ingeteam bags 170 MW inverter order for three PV plants in Morocco
8 August: Ingeteam has started supplying 35 inverter stations to three PV projects in Morocco, with a combined capacity of 170MW.
The three PV plants are expected to be operational within a year. They will provide power to the Moroccan power distribution grid.
The Inverter Station product supplied by Ingeteam features dual PV inverters and a medium voltage skid. The power transformer, oil deposit, medium voltage switchgear, ancillary services transformer and the low voltage switchgear are all integrated in a single metal platform.
Morocco aims to produce 52% of all its energy from renewable energy sources by year 2030.
BayWa r.e. commissions 28MW California project
3 August: Renewable energy firm BayWa r.e. has commissioned the 28MW Jacumba Solar Project in San Diego County, California.
BayWa r.e. acquired the project in late 2016. It took seven months to develop and construct the plant. The project was then purchased by AEP Renewables, a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Electric Power in June, although BayWa r.e. will stay involved with the project through a long-term O&M agreement.
TerniEnergia to make 66 redundancies
4 August: The Board of Directors of TerniEnergia S.p.A. has decided to make 66 redundacies related to the Nera Montoro industrial site due to both commercial and logistic problems.
Workers were involved in projects including solar PV and energy saving at the site.
