Just a few miles from First Solar’s manufacturing operations in Perrysburg, Ohio, CdTe thin-film start-up Willard & Kelsey Solar Group (also known as WK Solar) has purchased a module lamination system from Bürkle. The equipment order reflects the company's move to begin volume production and is claimed by Bürkle to be the first tool of its type in the North American market.

“Willard and Kelsey selected the Bürkle System not only for the unique quality and production features of the Bürkle machine, but also due to the service and support infrastructure of Bürkle in North America and Europe,” said Sven Kramer, senior sales engineer for Bürkle North America. “Willard and Kelsey will be a strong entrant to the solar panel manufacturing industry, and Bürkle is proud to be a part of their growth and upcoming business”.
