PV tracking specialist IdeemaTec Deutschland has said it has secured over 50% of the tracker market in Jordan and won around 101MW of projects in the country to date.

IdeemaTec noted that it had already supplied 44MW of tracker capacity to the Oryx projects and for two projects in the Ma'an Development Area of Jordan, which uses its safeTrack Horizon system with a tracking range of 45° and 55° and should be completed in December, 2015.

Shipments have also started for a 24MW project in Mafraq, with a further three contracts of around 11MW recently secured and deliveries due to start in October.

“The sites in Ma'an and Mafraq present particular challenges when it comes to constructing a plant, since they are crossed by wadis,” noted Axel Hartung, head of sales and marketing at IdeemaTec. “The safeTrack Horizon makes it possible to build on difficult terrain without needing to conduct time-consuming earthworks with inclines of up to 20°. This technology that we have developed has played a key role in our being awarded these projects.”
