Aecom-SPP was recently presented an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract with the U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering Command to construct solar power installations on at the Navy and Marine Corps sites in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah. The contract has one base year and four additional option years where Aecom will supply engineering, procurement and construction services for solar power systems. Solar Power Partners (SPP) will finance and own the systems.
“The U.S. federal government views renewable energy as an important strategic goal to improve environmental performance, reduce energy costs and enhance energy security at multiple levels,” said John M. Dionisio, Aecom president and chief executive officer. “We are proud to be selected by the U.S. Navy for this important assignment.”
Aecom-SPP is one of the five firms which was awarded the IDIQ contract, which holds a value of US$100 million. All contractors are allowed to compete for task orders under the terms and conditions specified in the contract.
