Roger Little to serve as chairman of Spire Corporation after retirement

PV equipment specialist, Spire Corporation said that its founder, Roger G. Little would retire at the end of the year and serve only as chairman.

Little has served as the Spire’s chairman, chief executive officer and president since founding the company in 1969.

“As I transition to a new phase in my life, I expect to stay active in the PV market space and will remain connected to the people at Spire that I have come in contact with over the years, noted Little. “Spire is positioned to capitalise on expected market growth in 2014 and beyond and accordingly, now is the time to transition leadership to guide the Company though its next phase of development.”

Spire has appointed Rodger W. LaFavre as CEO and president, effective 1 January 2014. LaFavre has been the company’s COO.

LaFavre joined Spire in 2000 as vice president, Utility Marketing of Spire Solar Operations. He was named vice resident and chief financial officer of Spire Solar in June 2002, chief operating officer of Spire Solar in November 2002 and chief operating Officer of Spire Corporation in February 2005.
