Siemens Energy has connected the 31MW Les Mées solar farm in southern France to the grid. The farm, which is owned by Eco Delta Développement (EDD) and comprised of six separate turnkey systems equipped with 115,000 Suntech modules, is one of the largest PV installations in the country.

In addition to supplying and installing the modules, inverters and transformers, Siemens will be responsible for operating and maintaining the farm. Building work, on the 70-hectare site, carried out alongside EDD subsidiary Delta Solar, lasted 10 months and was completed earlier this week.
