Terry Bailey has taken over the chairman and CEO reins at Soliant Energy, a concentrated photovoltaics company based in Monrovia, CA. Bailey, who replaces interim CEO Marco DeMiroz, recently left Evergreen Solar, where he was senior VP of marketing and sales.

“Helping to build Evergreen into an expanding, multinational solar manufacturing company has been a rewarding challenge. Now I look forward to taking Soliant Energy, a company with breakthrough, innovative technology and a solar-savvy team, to the next level,” said Bailey. “The solar industry is still early in its life-cycle. Soliant Energy is well-positioned for the future with its technology, products and people.”

“Dr. Bailey brings a wealth of experience, thought leadership and an understanding of how to operate and build a successful solar company,” said Marco DeMiroz. “His years of hands-on operational experience and deep insights of the industry will be invaluable to Soliant Energy and its growth.”

“As Soliant Energy moves to the next phase of its development, Terry Bailey is the ideal executive to lead the way. Terry has a thorough understanding of the solar customers’ needs, wants, issues and pain points. He knows how to get a product to market and deliver it to the target customer. And, most importantly, he knows how to lead and motivate teams,” said Chuck McDermott, general partner, RockPort Capital Partners, one of the investors in Soliant.

Soliant, which recently ramped a 1MW pilot line for its commercial rooftop CPV systems and expects to go to volume production next year, counts GE, SunEdison, Boeing, 3M, and others among its partners and customers.
