“The acquisition of the Macho Springs facility is another positive step in advancing the development of solar technologies. Turner Renewable Energy is pleased to continue our collaboration as a strategic partner with Southern Company,” said Ted Turner, owner of Turner Renewable Energy.
The Macho Springs project is the largest in New Mexico. El Paso Electric has a 20 year power purchase agreement (PPA) for all the electricity generated by the plant. It covers 243 hectares of State Trust land near Deming, New Mexico.
