The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has released a Proposed Decision (PD) for the US state’s community solar programme that will expand existing programmes and authorise a new one yet falls short of expectations.
Between 2024 and 2028 the US community solar market is expected to add 7.6GW of new capacity in existing state markets, according to a report from Wood Mackenzie and the Coalition for Community Solar Access (CCSA).
“The formation of Solar Powers Illinois stems from the passage of critical legislation: the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act and the Inflation Reduction Act.”
Community solar projects in Wisconsin could generate up to 1.75GW of renewable power, according to a study conducted by the Wisconsin Community Solar Economic Alliance.
The cumulative community solar capacity in the US will reach 14GW by 2028, according to Wood Mackenzie and and the Coalition for Community Solar Access.
