Gigawatt Global, a multinational renewable energy company and partner of Obama’s Power Africa initiative, has broken ground on its 1GW solar programme with the 7.5MW solar project in Burundi.
A new government MoU signed with multinational developer Gigawatt Global in Liberia and a strategic partnership between Italian oil giant Eni and Algerian state-owned firm Sonatrach have resulted in plans for 10MW solar PV plants in the respective countries.
The Palestine Energy Ministry has granted licensing and permits for its first large-scale solar power plant near the city of Hebron, according to the two companies involved in the development.
