India installed 3GW of solar capacity in the first quarter of the year, a 50% increase from Q1 2021, according to a new report from research firm Mercom India Research.

India added more than 10GW of solar PV in 2021 as the country hit a cumulative installed solar capacity of 49GW by the end of the year, according to research firm Mercom India Research's latest update on India’s solar sector.

Mercom has projected 10.5GW for 2017, well up from 9,812MW in its April quarterly report, and the 9,020MW projected in January.
