Portland General Electric (PGE) has finalised agreements for more than 1,000MW of new renewable energy and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in the US state of Oregon.

Avangrid, a subsidiary of Spanish utility Iberdrola, has reached commercial operations at two PV power plants in the US state of Oregon.

Power from the project, which is under construction, will be sold to PGE under a 25-year contract and marketed through its Green Future Impact (GFI) scheme.

Avangrid has achieved commercial operation on Oregon’s ‘largest’ solar PV farm, the 162MW Pachwáywit Fields project in Gilliam County.

The plan details how it will meet customers' energy needs and Oregon's greenhouse gas emissions targets.
