US community solar company Nautilus Solar Energy has bought a 270MW portfolio of projects from ESA, a US-based solar development platform.

The US Energy Storage Association (ESA) has adopted a target of 100GW of energy storage capacity in the country by 2030, a capacity it said would help facilitate greater penetration of renewables.

The US government has been urged to recognise the “critical role” energy storage can play in making the grid cleaner and able to accept more renewable energy, by increasing the eligibility of batteries and other technologies to receive the Investment Tax Credit (ITC).

Mainstream Renewable Power has received environmental approval to develop a 245MW solar plant in Chile, from the South American country’s Environmental Assessment Service.
